A Lone Worker is someone who performs an activity that is carried out in isolation from others without close or direct supervision. Such individuals may be exposed to risk of injury or loss of life because there is no-one there to alert of an impending situation. This is where Grace Industries steps in to provide our line of radio telemetry and non-radio-telemetry personal alarm safety systems known PASS devices and accountability systems.
Check Out These Tips for Lone Worker Safety:
Discuss with your lone workers the importance of proper safety. Communicate... Communicate... Communicate...
Utilize new advances in technology to help protect your lone workers. This includes personal alarm safety systems known as PASS devices as well as reliable accountability systems which can help you safely and remotely monitor your workers and alert you should one of them be in distress and need help.
Knowing the whereabouts of a distressed lone worker is often more important than just knowing who is in distress. For workers within large facilities, we have locators which can be placed around the plant to indicate which floor level or sector a worker is in.
Always wear proper protective equipment when working alone. We think our radio telemetry personal safety alarm systems (PASS) should be included in any lone worker's required work gear.
Make sure that whatever safety monitoring solution you choose is suited to the environment of the job.
All of our devices are extremely rugged and engineered to meet numerous safety standards.
We cut our teeth on developing safety solutions for the fire industry more than 40 years ago.
No one experiences more harsh conditions than the firefighters who stand by our products.
This has allowed for us to transition into numerous industrial applications where similar harsh environments make other safety solutions obsolete.
Train all of your workers to correctly use the safety solutions you select. Also determine who will be monitoring your employees and make sure they understand how to respond to any distress signals.
Grace Systems are easy to use. Contact us for a Value Added Reseller (VAR) in your area who will help you assess your needs and provide you with a custom solution to protect your Lone Workers.
Establish proper reporting procedures that are easy for lone workers to understand and short enough not to cut into their other job duties. Encourage proper reporting of any incidents or near misses that occur while working alone.
The Grace Mobile Lone Worker Package requires a vehicle telematics system to function.
The Grace Mobile Lone Worker Package requires a physical panic alarm input on the telematics provider's device (modem).
Before purchasing a Grace Mobile Lone Worker Package: Check with your telematics provider to make sure your system will support a physical panic alarm input and that telematics provider is capable of processing a Mobile Lone Worker Alarm.

Telemetry Transmits a Distress Signal While Non-Telemetry is only a very loud audible alarm
Our PASS devices come in two “flavors”. Telemetry alarms all feature smart signaling technology which will transmit a distress signal to other Grace Products. With contact closures on many of our products, you can take it a step further with an auto dialer to get help when you need it. Our Non-Telemetry devices, on the other hand, do not transmit a distress signal. Instead, they are extremely loud audible devices that can help alert those nearby whenever someone is in distress.
DO I NEED TELEMETRY OR NON-TELEMETRY?
Telemetry Radio Signaling Technology enables Grace products to send and / or receive distress signals between two or more Grace products.
Loud 90+ DBA
Motion Sensing 30/60/90/120 second timing
NEMA Rated for Water / Dust / Shock Proof
Send and Receive Distress Signals
Add On Optional Grace Patented Locators to Know Where to Look When User is in Alarm
Use Contact Closure Outputs on some systems to broadcast your existing alarms
Connect an auto-dialer or use canned alert messages to notify of alarm
No Monthly fees or hidden costs.
Our Non-Telemetry Devices do not transmit or receive any radio signals and are merely a very loud, lightweight, audible alarm unit which can help to alert someone nearby in the event of an emergency situation. Read more about both of our product types in the following sections.
We are the leading manufacturer of Personal Alert Safety Systems (PASS) devices in the USA. We feel that when someone's life depends upon our products, that we should be directly involved in all steps of the process from design to engineering to assembly. We take pride in supporting our country and economy by creating jobs and offering superior quality products which are hand tested here in our ISO certified manufacturing plant before leaving the door.
Our journey began in 1974, designing one of the first successful Firefighter PASS alarms. No one experiences more dangerous and extreme conditions. This has allowed us to transition into numerous industrial applications where harsh environments leave other solutions behind.
We Believe in Best Business Practices
We work hard to establish real relationships with real people. If we feel that we are not the right fit for your application we will be upfront at explaining why. This goes for both end users and distributors. We've worked hard to establish our reputation in the industry. To protect that, we must do what is right for our customers. People's lives depend upon the products we sell, and our distributors are carefully evaluated to ensure they understand how to create solutions which work for each end user. We keep in constant contact with our distributors and often assist in customizing an application or answering questions to best serve everyone involved in the final process.
We grow with you! Our products are used by Fortune 50 corporations around the world, and equally as often by small volunteer organizations. That's because all of our products feature modular design. You could have two SuperCELL® devices monitoring each other, or 200 TPASS® devices with an evacuation system, autodialer, locators, and accountability system covering a multi-level facility. You can enhance and extend your coverage by adding repeaters in areas of low coverage. So no matter how small or large, and no matter your budget, we can customize a solution that will keep you safe and compliant!
Prevention Meets Rescue
We have carved a niche for ourselves as a "rescue" company. But now, with our MS1000X, we have the ability to PREVENT accidents before they happen. You can take your existing alarm signals and transmit them to any Grace product! You can also receive confirmation that the alert was received. Your remote, mobile, and lone workers who may have been out of range of these signals before are now protected!
We can fit any application, but we find our products are most often used in environments which rely on Lone Workers, Mobile or Remote Workers, Confined Spaces, Firefighter Accountability, Mining, Public Safety, and Prevention.
Our products are used across dozens of industries in over 31 countries around the world. Some examples of popular applications include: Firefighter accountability, Confined Spaces, Industrial Safety, Mining, Search & Rescue, Military & Defense, Schools, Offices, Mobile Workers, Lone Workers, Public Safety, Police & Correctional facilities, Utilities, Pet safety, Personal safety, and Chemical Processing. Really, the possibilities are endless. We protect both human and animal life wherever it may be. And we are still the leading manufacturer of PASS devices in the USA. Users of our products value RUGGEDIBILTY AND DURRABILITY and require devices that are rugged and built to withstand extreme conditions; this makes Grace Industries their First CHOICE.
Size & Budget
Thanks to our modular design, we can custom fit a safety solution regardless of the size or budget of your organization, and you can easily add more protection should your needs change in the future. We are used by Fortune 50 corporations, as well as small independent organizations.
We can cover one room, or an entire multi-level facility. We have portable solutions for mobile workers or confined space workers, and can offer protection both indoors or out. We have waterproof, submersible devices which are USCG approved, as well as units built to withstand extreme temperatures (both hold or cold). We have underground MSHA approved equipment and fire safety devices. We meet a number of safety standards including UL Intrinsically safe and ATEX approved. So as you can see, regardless of where you need to be, Grace has got you covered.
When an industrial, construction, or rescue worker enters their work environment they are required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment PPE to prevent injury or death. When a worker is found incapacitated they are typically still wearing their safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, steel toed boots and fire resistant clothing, did any of those pieces of PPE tell anyone they were on the floor and incapacitated?
How often do you hear a company claim like this?
“WE HOPE YOU NEVER NEED TO USE ONE OF OUR PRODUCTS.”
Our system interfaces with other prevention systems like fire and gas detection alarms to make the Grace Rescue System a Grace EVACUATION system to guide every TPASS® or SuperCELL® user to safety.
In the event of an accident, an individual is protected by wearing a man-down alarm which has motion sensing activation as well as manual panic buttons which the user can hit to send his device into alarm mode. The units are configurable for different alarm times (must be coded at our facility at the time of purchase). It first will go into pre-alarm mode which can be canceled by the user moving or acknowledging the alert. If there is no response, it then goes into full alarm mode which will alert a monitoring unit and the appropriate action will be taken. We configure these actions based on the needs of our end user. Some users want it to trigger a light and siren alarm unit, other users want it to hook into an auto dialer and call pre-programmed numbers for help, and some users may want to monitor and know the exact location of the person in distress, many devices can even send email and text alerts when the alarm is triggered. But regardless of what configuration the user chooses, someone will be able to monitor and rescue the person in distress.
Our accountability systems make monitoring your workforce easy and affordable. You can remotely monitor the situation and send and receive evacuation orders to remove people from hazardous conditions. The users can confirm receipt of these alerts so you know they have heard the order. The loud alarm and flashing LEDs will also alert others on the scene to assist their team members and help guide them to safety. Many units have the ability to display member IDs, names, and to issue health and PAR checks to remote users. Enhanced accountability keeps everyone safe.
Personal Safety Lighting
Our Lite Tracker® devices help protect users in low visibility conditions such as mining, marine & diving, storm chasing, and pet and personal safety. Our Glow Baton® devices help protect users in traffic control, crowd control, accident alerts, or aviation.
GeoPointS ᶲ GPS ®
With our new SuperCELL® SC500 GeoPointS ᶲ GPS ® technology, you will receive the exact GPS coordinates & last known street address of both your mobile worker and their vehicle. It works with your existing Automatic Vehicle Location AVL system to deliver this data. Please contact us to learn more about AVL systems and Grace Mobile Lone Worker interfaces.
PREVENTION MEETS RESCUE WHEN YOU USE GRACE INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS
Our solutions for Lone Workers in Fixed Facilities have no monthly fees or hidden costs. However, our Mobile Lone Worker safety solutions require partnering with AVL Telematics systems which may incur additional fees by using their equipment. Please check with your AVL Telematics provider to further answer this question for Mobile Lone Workers.
It is up to you! We do not offer call monitoring but there are many commercial call monitoring centers to take care of your needs. Many of our users are self- monitored. Some devices can be configured to call pre-programmed numbers for help, others can be monitored on-site via a light and siren unit, others can send text and email alerts. Our most advanced units run monitoring software which allows an end user to keep a pulse on names, locations, IDs, and health of all remote users and issue evacuation commands in real time.
